botanist & writer
I’m a field botanist, science writer, and graduate student at the University of Wyoming.

Hedysarum boreale, Brooks Range, Alaska. July 2023.

Moehringa lateriflora, collected in Yellowstone National Park. May 2021.
In 2019 I was first trained as a botanist on Katahdin in Maine, and since then I’ve worked seven field seasons across Alaska, Wisconsin, Montana, and Wyoming.
I have specific expertise recognizing the flora of alpine and arctic North America.

Writing:
I started my career as a science writer for the Sea Grant college program. I’ve published stories as a freelance environmental journalist, and worked as a copy writer, editor, and communications professional since 2014.
